The Ansivision transmitter sends (ANSI X3.64) signals to every receiver. The receiver software generates pages out of the transmitted data and displays them frame by frame. Because only new frame information data is transferred Ansivision needs only on a very low amount of bandwidth.
Provider of Ansivision broadcast can be everyone who has a PC that is permanently connected to the internet and that can be used as a server. The broascaster should provide an adequate upstream to allow multpiple receivers to view his Ansivision broadcast. In most cases the server will be hired as a virtual machine inside of a bigger data center. The server software needed to provide an Ansivision broadcast can be downloaded freely on this page.
At this time, there are no authoring tools known to create Ansivision contents. So by now it would mean a lot of hand-made work. To create ANSI-Art there are several tools known. Any ANSI-Art images can be converted to Ansivision content easily with any type of text-editor using a few additional ANSI escape-sequences. A tutorial for creating Ansivision contents will be published soon.
